"Trevor was recommended to us by a neighbour and another close friend who both said that he was honest and an easy bloke to work with. Originally, I thought that his suggested sale price was possibly a little too high and I pointed this out to him. "It is very difficult these days to express the attributes due to someone without people becoming highly suspicious as to the honesty and impartiality of the comments. So we have tried to express our comments simply and as honestly as we can. Jenny and I had considered selling our place around Christmas 2014 and had asked a local agent to give us an appraisal. We were very uncomfortable with the outcome in that we believed that the selling price was way out of line with the market and was just an attempt to secure a listing – we have since noticed that many of their listings are still on the market after many months. In March, Jenny had noticed a flyer in our mail from Trevor Grady of Tom Grady Real Estate and we decided to talk with him as he was new face in the area. It was the best decision we could have made. We have since found out that Trevor has not been long in the real estate industry, but had lived in our area for many years and was well known and well respected – by trade he is a licensed builder which paid dividends when we were looking for a new home. Trevor came to our home and talked with us about what were we planning to do, why we were selling, asked us about our property and what sort of sale price we were looking at – this was more like a discussion with an old friend rather than the usual discussions with agents, and there was definitely no hard sell, we were very comfortable talking with Trevor. We had a very good idea of the market and set a price we thought was realistic in today’s conditions and gave Trevor a range in which we would consider we would accept an offer. We had already come to accept Trevor as a realistic, honest and friendly person. But more importantly, we felt we could trust him. Ethics are an old fashioned term, but Trevor has ethics and sticks to them. Over the coming weeks, he proved that trust we placed in him many times over in both the sale of our house and in the purchase of our new home. We were never left hanging, Trevor kept us in the loop at all times – we never once felt as though we didn’t know what was going on or what was required from us – Trevor worked very closely with our solicitor and smoothed the way on many occasions. We sold our house within days – ahh, sold too cheaply! Not a chance, we got a sale price within 1.5% of the top price in the range we set. Trevor had done a great job with the purchasers. If you want to sell your property, Jenny and I would be only too happy to support anything we have said here. But that is not the end of the story. We had been so impressed with Trevor that we asked him to assist us in purchasing our new home. To say we drove Trevor crazy is probably an understatement. We sort of had an idea of what we wanted, but as we looked at different properties our ideas firmed up into what we really wanted. Trevor kept working with us and in the end we ended up with just the right property for us. We had seen some great properties and even put in an offer on one, but Trevor knew we weren’t that happy with it and kept looking for us. His experience in the building industry was invaluable to us as was his knowledge of the area and his down to earth practical way of looking at things. We probably won’t sell and buy again – at least not for a long time, but if we do, we will be looking for Trevor to act on our behalf. "
